Thank you for your feedback, Noosa! At the Ordinary Meeting on 18th July, Council decided to extend the public engagement period to make sure anyone who had not had a chance to read and comment on the proposed amendments could still do so until the close of business on 28 July 2024. An extra 100 submissions were received during the 10-day extension, on top of more than 350 submissions received during the initial six-week consultation. Council planners also spoke to more than 300 people at face-to-face pop-up events about the proposed amendments. We will continue to analyse your feedback on the proposed amendments and let you know what we heard and what happens next. You can read the media release about the consultation process here . Noosa Council has been working to improve housing choice, diversity, and affordability for residents, as well as introduce mechanisms to support greater innovation and economic development in the Noosa Shire. To achieve these goals, Council has proposed a range of amendments to the shire’s planning scheme - Noosa Plan 2020 – which the state government has now approved for community consultation. The proposed amendments implement the key recommendations of both Noosa Housing Strategy 2022 and the Short-term Accommodation Monitoring Report 2022. Now, it is time for residents across the Shire to give their feedback on the proposed amendments to Noosa Plan 2020. Properly made submissions regarding any aspect of the proposed amendment were invited between Friday 31 May and Sunday 14 July 2024.

The proposed amendments to Noosa Plan 2020 can be viewed in the side tab (shown in tracked changes) in an electronic format, along with a range of supportive explanatory factsheets, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and summary of all map and diagram amendments.
